Keeping in mind the spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus, we have compiled the list of things which one can do for precautions. The following also includes the WHO guidelines for protection against the virus.
Avoid Unnecessary Panic and Trust in Allah
The most important thing along with taking care and preventive measures is trust in Allah. A Muslim believes that nothing can harm or benefit him/her without Allah’s will.
Abu Darda reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Everything has a reality, and the servant will not reach the reality of faith until he knows that what afflicted him could never miss him, and that what missed him could never have afflicted him.”Musnad Aḥmad 26944
Read Duas of Protection
Read the duas of morning and evening and dua for protection from disease.
اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّیْ أَعُوْذُبِکَ مِنَ الْبَرَصِ، وَالْجُنُوْنِ، وَالْجُذَامِ، وَمِنْ سَیِّءِ الاَسْقَامِ
Transliteration: “Allahumma inni audhubika minal-barasi wal-junooni wal-juzami, wa minal-sayyi’ilasqam”
Meaning: “O Allah! Indeed I seek refuge in You from leucoderma, and madness, and leprosy, and all bad diseases.”
Wash Your Hands Frequently
Washing hand is the most important measure for protection. Use soap when washing your hands. If you cannot wash your hands (for example when travelling in car etc.), keep a hand sanitizer in your purse.
Maintain Social Distancing
If someone is coughing or sneezing, maintain distance from them or you can also wear mask around them. WHO (World Health Organization) recommends 3 ft distance. This is for avoiding inhaling infected droplets which might include COVID-19 virus, if the person is infected.
Avoid Touching Eyes, Nose And Mouth
Avoid excessive or unnecessary touching of hands, nose and mouth. Prefer to touch with washed hands only. If you have touches contaminated surface, the virus will be on your hand. If you touch your face etc., it can enter your body.
Practice Respiratory Hygiene
Droplets spread virus. If you are coughing or sneezing, make sure to cover your mouth. Make sure people around you do so, too.
If You Have Fever, Cough, Difficulty Breathing, Seek Medical Care Early
I you exhibit any symptoms of coronavirus then seek medical help. This will ensure your safety and safety of those around you.
Stay informed and Updated
Follow the guidelines issued by your government. Your national or local health authority will have the latest updates regarding your geographic area so follow their advice.
